Sana Sharma presents at DiSCuss#002

Sana Sharma recently joined the Designers in Space Community for their DiSCuss#002 event. During this fireside chat, Sharma describes the motivations, methods, and outcomes from the Astronaut Ethnography project she leads at the MIT Space Exploration Initiative, as well as how they inform her current role as Chief Design Officer at Aurelia Institute.

The Astronaut Ethnography Project’s mission is to democratize access to human-centered insights about life in space. Informed by archival research, primary source accounts, and astronaut interviews, this project presents perspectives from a diverse group of astronauts, cosmonauts, and spaceflight participants. Its goal is to reach a broad audience of people interested in envisioning the future of space — designers, researchers, engineers, and policymakers.
