Yulissa Cantero
ZED FACTOR FELLOW INTERN
Yulissa Cantero (she/her) is a recent graduate from Princeton University where she received her Bachelors of Science in Engineering in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Her senior thesis encompassed designing an exploration excursion vehicle and mission to the Martian moons. Other research projects include mission planning and design of a lunar space weather satellite. She joins Aurelia as a 2022 Zed Factor Fellow.
At Princeton, Yulissa was active with Engineers Without Borders (where she hiked along the Andes mountains in Peru to install a potable water system for over 60 homes), the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, and Raqs Belly Dance Troupe. In her free time, she likes to read, run, and go on road-trips.
Originally from Mexico and raised in the suburbs of Kansas City, Yulissa’s love for space developed as she watched the stars from her two homes. As a first generation and low-income student, Yulissa hopes to inspire and empower others from her community to join in the wonder of space exploration.
